Movie: The Secret

I think at this point it's safe to say that everyone either knows someone or has personally read this book or seen the movie. Out of curiosity I decided it was time to watch the movie to see what the buzz was about. Upon finishing the movie two things struck me as odd. The first being that it was awfully like an infomercial, the second being I thought "The Secret" was a combination of ideas and revelations. Not to spoil the surprise, but it turns out to be a secret in the singular sense the title implies.
What is the secret you ask? The concept surrounding the law of attraction. According to Wikipedia, this concept was first discussed in the early nineteenth century and possibly before. The Secret describes the law of attraction as being rooted in quantum physics and goes on to have a series of different professionals from assorted backgrounds explain what can be achieved using The Secret. Overall, I liked the emphasis on how the power of positive thought can affect your life and help people reach goals. I didn't think the focus on acquiring wealth was necessary, but in general I think the message of this movie is good advice if some things are taken with a grain of salt.
